Television’s leading ladies kicked off awards season with some dramatic style statements on the red carpet at the 71st annual Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Here are our picks for best dressed.

Zendaya in Vera Wang
Zendaya stuns in this custom Vera Wang one shoulder, emerald gown featuring a sheer bodice with a sweetheart neckline and hip-high slit up one side. Matching green Brian Atwood pumps, plus diamond and emerald drop earrings and a cuff bracelet, completed her showstopping ensemble. She is the obvious best dressed of the evening, let’s face it she never ever disappoints.

Angela Bassett in Antonio Grimaldi
Angela Bassett is a stunning stand out in this custom off-the-shoulder red jumpsuit from Antonio Grimaldi Fall 2019 couture collection with Judith Leiber’s Disco Lollipop Crystal Bag.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
Winner of lead actress in a limited series for Fosse/Verdon, Williams looked statuesque in a strapless custom Louis Vuitton gown by Nicolas Ghesquière with elaborately embroidered sequin embellishment, teamed with Fred Leighton jewelry.

Mandy Moore in Brandon Maxwell
This Is Us star, Mandy Moore, bringing some Old Hollywood vibes in pink-and-red custom blouse and red crepe cummberbund skirt by Brandon Maxwell that she said was inspired by “American glamour,” paired with $225,000 worth of Forevermark diamonds: drop earrings, a pear-cut ring and three eternity bands.

Kerry Washington in Alexandre Vauthier
The Scandal star arrived to the purple carpet with a long flirty ponytail (love) and wearing a white Alexandre Vauthier tuxedo blouse with the collar popped up, black sequined pants and peep-toe heels. She accessorized with a black-and-silver bracelet, earrings and rings.

Nicole Scherzinger in Vivienne Westwood
Another ode to Old Hollywood glam… Nicole Scherzinger in a sexy white number by Vivienne Westwood and bling by Lorraine Schwartz.

Amy Poehler in Greta Constantine
I just love the simplistic glamour of this look. Amy Poehler in a metallic gold Greta Constantine jumpsuit with a black tie draped around her neck.

Catherine O’Hara in Greta Constantine
Catherine O’Hara channeled her eccentric, high-fashion Schitt’s Creek character’s signature black-and-white color palette wearing a striking black-and-white color-blocked number by Greta Constantine.

Padma Lakshmi in Christian Siriano
“Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi went for a sleek minimalist look, wearing a light blue curve-hugging gown Christian Siriano gown with a gold clutch.

Jenny McCarthy in Alexander McQueen
Our girl Jenny mixed purty and punk with this pastel blue layered dress with an asymmetrical raw hem that hit at mid-calf. She styled the look with a black studded belt, matching heeled combat boots and a chunky silver chain necklace.
